MINOR MIDGET AA COACH INTRO LETTER

The OVSS Minor Midget AA coaching staff is very excited about the upcoming 2011-2012 hockey season.

I am Dale Hein and will be the “non-parent” head coach for this season.  I was assistant coach with the Major Bantam AA Silver Seven team last year and we look to build on the fifty win season we enjoyed last year.  I am grateful for the opportunity to be head coach.   I am an Intermediate level certified coach with over 15 years of experience in various levels and with various organizations including AA and AAA.

Jim Lewandowsky will be the assistant coach and also brings Intermediate level coaching credentials, including many years of AA and AAA experience to the team.  He will be working with the defense this year.

Our expectations for this year’s team are quite simple – team first, respect, hard work, speed in all we do and team first (duplication intentional).  We are looking for coachable players of high character and discipline (on and off the ice) to be part of this first class experience.  In this important year in a player’s hockey career, the team’s success will directly contribute to the player’s future hockey opportunities so the team must be the player’s first hockey priority.  We always look to create a fun environment for the players to play in as we feel it helps create a winning atmosphere.

We expect the intensity and competition level at the week-long try outs to be high so come prepared to put your best skate forward.  All are welcome.

We are working on possible tournaments in Mississauga, Ottawa, Montreal, and Detroit with possible additional exhibition games in New York and elsewhere to expose the team to as much high level competition as possible.  The 30 game schedule plus the playoffs will provide abundant local challenges.  We look forward to a great year.

We welcome you to Minor Midget AA try outs this year and wish you the best of luck.  If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact Dale Hein at dale@stellarhockey.com.
