U9 Team Black travelled to Belle River, Ontario to take part in the U9 Full Ice Championships the weekend of Jan 17~19th - the largest U9 tournament in North America.
Although being their first full ice experience, the team started strong with wins over the Tampa Bay Jr. Lightning, Oakville Rangers and George Bell Titans - securing their spot in the elite division playoffs.
Despite falling short in a thrilling overtime loss to the Burlington Eagles in the semi finals, the team showcased incredible teamwork and sportsmanship all weekend on and off the ice.
Finishing 4th among 76 teams from across Ontario and the US is an accomplishment to be proud of and will undoubtedly serve as a valuable learning experience for the team moving forward.
